The Treatment of Fracture-dislocation of the Hip by Cementless Total Hhip Arthroplaty

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors evaluated the results of total hip arthroplasty in patients who had a fracture-dislocation of hip treated initially with a nonoperative method or with an open reduction and internal fixation. The series involved 8 make and 1 female
with
an
average age of 45 years(range 32 to 52 years) at the time of injury. Traffic accidents were the main causes of injury(8 out of 9 cases). Following the arthroplasty, 9 arthroplasties have been evaluated for more than one year(range 1 to 10.4
year).
Until
now, satisfactory results could be obtained after arthroplasty, but the reported group was very small, so it is necessary to do long term follow up.
